The Broadly Acquisition
In 2023 Vendasta acquired Broadly; a customer engagement and reputation management company serving SMBs.
A key aspect of the acquisition included marrying the solutions of Broadly with Vendasta. Broadly's customers heavily preferred accessing the platform via mobile devices. This left us with the challenge of reworking our Social Marketing tool which had, until this point, been optimized for desktop based agencies.
The emergence of generative AI
At around the same time generative AI was making it's debut into the tech space thanks to the emergence of LLMs and generative solutions.
Vendasta moved very quickly on it's initial integrations with this tech, the key workflow in Social Marketing for generating social content was not preforming well. I knew if we wanted to bring this solution to mobile centric SMBs it would need to be updated.
